The holidays are in full swing and that means so are holiday parties and gatherings. With all the hecticness of the holiday season, sometimes a simple, quick recipe is the perfect tool for entertaining. This Smoked Salmon Crostini with Asparagus Mousse checks all the boxes: fast, simple, easy, and very delicious. In just about half an hour, you can have a beautiful and fancy-looking appetizer that tastes luxurious, but comes together easily. Plus, these flavors taste fantastic any time of the year! Bright asparagus, savory garlic, crisp crostini, and smokey salmon are a match made in appetizer heaven. I promise these crostini will fly off the plate in even less time than it took to make them!
The most cooking that these crostini require is a quick roast of some asparagus. Roasting the asparagus and garlic in the oven helps the asparagus cook evenly and quickly. Depending on the size of the asparagus you have, you may need a little more or less time. But we are just looking to add a little roasty flavor to the asparagus and make it tender and easy to blend.
Putting these crostini together is fun and easy! I like to add the mousse to a plastic bag, snip the corner off, and pipe it onto the crostini. However, simply spreading it on works just as well. The mousse makes for the perfect creamy and smooth base for the salty, smokey salmon.

This appetizer would also work well for anyone preparing a “Feast of the Seven Fishes” for Christmas Eve! The perfect party starter, these crostini are hearty enough to satisfy your guests, but light enough that they won’t fill them up too much before dinner!
The best part about these crostini is how elegant and luxurious they look. Beautiful enough for any formal party, but quick and easy enough to throw together for a snack as well. Smoked salmon adds so much flavor and elegance yet requires nothing more than arranging it right out of the package. It’s the perfect appetizer ingredient!
