Since today is the Preakness, I’m bringing you another horse-racing inspired cocktail! The Longines Kentucky Oaks is a race for fillies traditionally held the day before the Kentucky Derby, and the Oaks Lily is its signature drink. This refreshing cocktail uses both vodka and orange liqueur (I like Triple Sec) mixed with cranberry and lemon juice for a tart, yet slightly sweet and fruity drink. These flavors just scream summer afternoon and the blackberry and lemon garnishes add a pop of color and freshness. The Oaks Lily cocktail’s color is reminiscent of the Stargazer Lilies placed on the winning filly at the end of the race. This beautiful drink will become a summer staple – whether you’re sipping it trackside or in your own backyard.
