Chocolate-covered strawberries are one of the simplest yet most decadent desserts. I’ve always loved the flavor combination of rich, deep dark chocolate with juicy, sweet berries. However, they can be tedious to prepare one by one and are often messy to eat as the chocolate shatters and falls. This Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bread combines the flavor pair of chocolate and strawberry with the ease and simplicity of a quick bread. Soft and fluffy, vanilla-scented bread is studded with chocolate chips and juicy berries and topped with a rich and decadent chocolate ganache. Simply slice and spread with butter, or, for even more berry-goodness, strawberry jam. This simple and easy recipe brings the luxury of chocolate-covered strawberries to your morning coffee or late-night snack – and couldn’t be prettier.
Quick breads are always fun to make. From banana bread to coffee cake, quick breads are easy to whip up and infinitely customizable. This recipe honestly could work with any berries or fruit that you prefer. For example, the strawberries could be swapped out for cherries for a cherry cordial loaf!
Plus, one of my favorite parts of baking is that the whole kitchen smells amazing. This recipe fills your kitchen with the scent of smooth and sweet vanilla bread. This tender and fluffy yet sturdy bread is the perfect backdrop to hold the swirls of chocolate and berries together. Just flavorful enough to add notes of vanilla, but not too strong to cover the delicate strawberry flavor.
And I can’t forget that chocolate ganache. A good ganache is my weakness – I could eat it straight with a spoon. Somehow, smooth, rich ganache tastes even more strongly of chocolate than the chocolate on its own. This ganache will be very pourable while warm, but will cool into a thick, spreadable coating. This bread would be good just with the chocolate chips in the batter, but having that extra layer of silky ganache adds a touch of the luxury that chocolate-covered strawberries are known for.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bread
Ingredients
Strawberry Bread
- 1 stick salted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus 2 more tablespoons
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups chopped fresh strawberries
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chocolate Ganache
- 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, chips or chopped bars
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, whip together the soft butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Toss the chopped strawberries with 2 tbsp flour. This will keep them from sinking in the batter.

This can be done in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat for 5-6 minutes or in a microwave for 2 minutes. Be sure not to boil or scald the cream.Pour the hot cream over the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl. Add the vanilla extract and allow to sit untouched for 2-3 minutes.Whisk the melted chocolate into the hot cream to form the ganache.
- Pour the ganache over the cooled strawberry bread.
- Allow the ganache to cool and set on the bread. Slice, serve, and enjoy.
